BR BID Coronavirus Update: 22nd March 2021 Restart Grants

Restart Grants

The Government has published further information about eligibility for the “Restart Grants”:

“The Restart Grant scheme supports businesses in reopening safely as COVID-19 restrictions are lifted. Grants will be available from 1 April 2021 but you can submit applications in advance.

Eligible businesses in the non-essential retail sector may be entitled to a one-off cash grant of up to £6,000 from their local council.

Eligible businesses in the hospitality, accommodation, leisure, personal care and gym sectors may be entitled to a one-off cash grant of up to £18,000 from their local council.”

Please note – these grants will again be managed at Local Authority level, and, at the time of writing, there are no details on how to apply for this Restart Grant on the ADC website. I know that the team at ADC will be working hard to get this information out to you as soon as they can – previous experience has taught me that there’s often quite a gap in time between the government publishing information about grants and local authorities being given the fine details of how to distribute the support.

The current request from ADC is:

It’s a good idea to regularly visit the ADC Coronavirus Business Support webpage for the latest information:

Contacting the BID:

In accordance with the lockdown rules, Clair and I are both working from home, and only coming into town if it's absolutely essential. That does include dealing with Parking Disc collections, so if you need more discs, please order in the usual way, and we will contact you to make arrangements to meet at the BID Office to collect.
